CSULB’s Center for International Trade & Transportation Recognizes Fox with Leadership Award

The Center for International Trade and Transportation (CITT) has selected international trade leader Guy Fox as the recipient of the 2025 Domenick Miretti Award. The prestigious award is conferred by CITT to an individual for his or her passion and dedication to the goods movement industry. Fox will receive the award during CITT’s 2025 State of the Trade and Transportation Industry Town Hall entitled Port Town Resilience: Thriving in Uncertain Times.

Register now to attend the Town Hall on September 15, 2025, at Cabrillo High School. An opening reception catered by Santa Fe Importers will celebrates a decade of success at the Academy of Global Logistics.

“With more than five decades of experience in the Southern California logistics industry, Guy Fox has an established legacy of not only industry leadership but also as a champion for ethical trade communities everywhere,” said CITT Executive Director Tyler Reeb. “We are honored to add his name to the growing pantheon of Miretti Award recipients.”

“I am indeed honored and humbled to receive the Domenick Miretti Award as it represents the marriage between business and education,” said Fox, noting that CITT’s “practical factor” approach to logistics education, beginning with the 1997 launch of the Global Logistics Specialist (GLS) program—now known as the Global Logistics Professional (GLP) program—has empowered the supply chain workforce for decades. “Once the students achieve GLP status, they can hit the deck running as they have been educated in the whole process of how international trade functions. This opens many doors for them! I love it!” said Fox.

Fox has received an astonishing number of awards for his contributions to international trade, such as the Stanley T. Olafson Bronze Plaque Award, Southern California’s highest and most prestigious award in international trade. Fox’s reputation among international trade professionals in Southern California and throughout the world is nothing short of stellar, and he has received accolades from the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Los Angeles, the Foreign Trade Association, the Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Industry, and the Republic of Korea, among many others. Fox has also testified before the U.S. Congress in federal hearings addressing port security issues. Nationally and internationally renowned as a global trade expert, Fox has appeared on CNN News, Bloomberg News, and other media outlets to address a range of current events and how they relate to international trade.

Fox is also a champion for international education. He served as Vice Chair and Chair of the Executive Committee of the Advisory Board for the School of Business Administration and Public Policy at California State University, Dominguez Hills for over ten years, and is a member of the International Advisory Council for Chapman University. He is a past member of the Board of Governors for the Japan America Society of Southern California. He is a retired Member of the Board of Directors and Vice President for the International Visitors Council of Los Angeles. He is Chairman Emeritus of the District Export Council of Southern California by appointment from the U.S. Secretary of Commerce.

Fox currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the International Seafarer’s Center for the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. He is President of Guy Fox & Associates, Inc., an international consulting firm specializing in supply chain management, contract negotiations, structuring strategic alliances, and infrastructure analysis. A paragon of international trade with a lifetime of service to the goods movement industry, Guy Fox embodies the principles the Miretti Award represents.

The Domenick Miretti Award was established in 2017 in honor of Domenick Miretti, the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Senior Liaison to the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles and founding member of the CITT Policy and Steering Committee. Miretti spent the majority of his adult life working in and educating others about international trade. Beginning in the 1970s and continuing until his passing in 2016, he helped lead exemplary efforts in bridging gaps between industry, education, and labor stakeholders. His goal was “to bring the university to the docks and the docks to the university.” View Domenick Miretti's complete bio.
