Dr. Noel Hacegaba Selected as Next CEO of Port of Long Beach

With the retirement of CEO Mario Cordero at the end of this year, CITT can think of no one better to take up the role and serve the Port of Long Beach than Dr. Noel Hacegaba. Hacegaba has been a part of senior management at the Port for the past fifteen years, and most recently served as the Port’s Chief Operating Officer (COO).   CITT would also like to congratulate Hacegaba on his recent appointment as President of the California Association of Port Authorities (CAPA). Hacegaba served as an expert panelist at the 2025 CITT Town Hall and has been an important part of the Academy of Global Logistics (AGL) at Cabrillo High School.

“To say that Hacegaba has been a loyal friend to CITT would be an understatement. Whether it is supporting our signature events like the CITT Town Hall or stepping into the classroom to provide guidance and insight to the next generation of global logistics professionals, Hacegaba has been nothing less than a terrific partner. Hacegaba is poised to be an excellent successor to Mario Cordero and we look forward to working with him in his new role,” said Tyler Reeb, Executive Director of CITT.

In recent years, Dr. Hacegaba has led the Port’s response to the global supply chain disruptions, directing the Port’s Business Recovery Taskforce and coordinating with industry, labor, and government partners to keep cargo moving through the nation’s largest port complex. In total, Dr. Hacegaba has more than 27 years of public and private sector leadership experience spanning a variety of industries. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California (USC) and earned a doctorate degree from the University of La Verne. Dr. Hacegaba is also a Certified Port Executive (CPE) and earned the Port Professional Executive (PPX) and Port Professional Manager (PPM) designations from the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA).
