This free, hour-long webinar will introduce you to intermodal logistics—one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing areas of the supply chain—which connects ports, railways, trucking, terminals, and technology. It’s an industry that offers many career opportunities.

During the webinar, we will cover:

  • Early‑career roles in logistics and intermodal operations
  • How intermodal systems work and why they matter for both economic and sustainability goals
  • How leading industry organizations including the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) and the Container and Intermodal Institute (CII) are supporting students and early‑career professionals through scholarships
  • How the Global Logistics Professional (GLP) program aligns with real workforce needs and industry expectations

Logistics professionals are essential to the global economy—ensuring that goods and people move efficiently, sustainably, and securely across borders. With roles spanning a wide range of industries, the demand for skilled logistics talent is growing rapidly. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects nearly 19% job growth in the field through 2033 and U.S. News & World Report ranks logistics among the Top 5 Best Business Jobs.

The Global Logistics Professional (GLP) program at California State University, Long Beach offers comprehensive training designed for both newcomers and experienced professionals to enter or advance in the logistics industry. Two courses provide strategic, specialized, and operational skills through real-world case studies that culminate in the final experience of presenting an Integrated Logistics Plan to a panel of industry experts.

Whether you're exploring new career opportunities or seeking to advance in your current profession, the GLP program provides the practical skills to pursue many different positions across international trade, transportation, and the supply chain.

As an entrepreneur trying to understand the supply chain industry, this was a great course for understanding all the intricacies that come along with getting products to market. The instructors were well prepared to bring the real-world situations into the classroom. I especially liked how the emphasis on emerging technology and current events was simplified in a way anyone could understand. This experience also helped me form solid bonds and I look forward to growing these relationships in the future.
