The HSKK Chinese Speaking Proficiency Test is divided into three levels:

• HSKK (Basic) is for test takers who learn Chinese in one or two semesters with 2-3 class hours per week, and master 200 of the most commonly used words.
• HSKK (Intermediate) is for test takers who learn Chinese in one to two academic years with 2-3 class hours per week, and master 900 of the most commonly used words and phrases.
• HSKK (Advanced) is for test takers who learn Chinese in more than two academic years with 2-3 class hours per week, and master 3,000 of the most commonly used words and phrases.
