Academic Course (University Credit)
Curriculum and Methods in Teaching Art (EDSS 450A) is a 3-unit online course designed for individuals who already possess a California Teaching Credential and are looking to add an authorization in Art.
In addition to learning a new skill set that can help teachers advance their career, passing this course fulfills part of the requirements of the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
The course objectives, curriculum materials, instructional strategies, and assessments are specific to teaching art to a diverse range of students. Reflective practice is based on the California Standards for the Teaching Profession and state curriculum frameworks. Letter grade only (A-F).
Please review the directions on the Single Subject Credential Program (SSCP), including the eligibility requirements and expectations for Adding an Additional Credential, and follow the steps accordingly. Be sure to complete the Request to Enroll in a Methods Course to Add a Credential via DocuSign, indicating the name and email address for the Subject Area Coordinator in the area you wish to add. You will also need to upload a copy of your valid existing Single Subject or Multiple Subject Credential.
