- Current CATIA V4 users
- Engineers and designers with prior CAD knowledge seeking to upgrade their skills
- Non-designer candidates including anyone familiar with 3D construction from 2D instruction (carpenters, mechanics, electricians, etc.)
CATIA V5 Fundamentals Bootcamp
Face-to-Face and Online
CATIA V5 is Dassault Systems' computer-aided drafting and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) software solution that allows you to define and make the tools needed to manufacture products. CATIA is predominately used by design, tooling, and manufacturing engineers, commercial and consumer designers, and users of other CAD/CAM software programs. CATIA enables users to tailor product development according to their industry-specific requirements. With CATIA, users simulate the entire range of industrial design processes from marketing and initial concept to product design, analysis, assembly, and maintenance. This certificate includes 20 hours of face-to-face instruction and 50 hours of online lab time.
- V5 assembly design fundamentals
- V5 sketcher and auto-constraints
- Part design fundamentals
- V5 part and product integration
- Complete all five courses (attend both class meetings, totaling 20 hours).
- Complete required 50 hours of lab time online.
- Successfully pass each course test.
Michael Saing CATIA Student
I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who is interested in CATIA, even if they aren't familiar with it. The instructor is very friendly, has a good sense of humor, and is very resourceful--he has had an interactive training website available to his students for over two years. He helped me understand CATIA's drawing techniques and put them to practice in the engineering industry.
Calvin L. Cox Mechanical Designer
I’m a mechanical designer with many years of Unigraphics experience. After all this time using Unigraphics I found myself needing to update my current CAD skills. The current job market seems to be looking for designers and engineers trained in CATIA V5. I decided it was time to learn CATIA V5. After looking online for someplace to take actual hands-on CATIA V5 training, I came across the program offered by CSULB's College of Professional and Continuing Education. I attended the class taught by Kaae Rillos for five days. Kaae is a very good instructor that made the class educational (and fun, also). I learned a lot in the class and the online training included with the class. I hope to use my new CATIA V5 skills to find a mechanical design job. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this class to anyone looking to learn CATIA V5 quickly.
